Things You Should Know Before You Get Waxed
Things You Should Know Before You Get Waxed

Now you may be slightly nervous if you have never had a wax before but apart from the amazing end results there are a few things that you should know before you get started!

So whether it’s your first time or if you’re a seasoned pro then our highly trained fully qualified technicians at Wakeup Beauty Full Service Salon in Torrance, California, have the skills, experience and personal touch to make it as seamless as possible with the outcome you were hoping for.

How Often Should I Wax Anyway?

It’s a question we’re often asked at our salon but the answer depends on you as much as anything! If you want to maintain a tidy look then we would advise that you should try to get a professional wax at least once every six weeks.

If you’re hair grows extremely slowly then it may be a little longer, but for many women the answer is every 3-4 weeks. We see many of our clients at least this often, but the good news for new clients is that the process is not as painful as you may have been told, and over time, you certainly get used to it.

Should I wax my legs as well?

This is very much a personal choice however many women do choose to. There are many reasons why women choose to wax their legs as well as their pubic areas, however the main reason is that it lasts longer than a normal shave would do. By removing the hairs at the root it takes far longer for them to grow back as well as the fact that the end result is far smoother and more seductive.

What should I wear to the salon?

It’s completely up to you what you wear to our salon, however, for your comfort it may be best to wear loose fitting sweatpants or cargo pants. After the waxing your pores are very open, which is good for the skin, but this can be sensitive so it is be more comfortable to wear loose fitting pants than tight leather ones!

Is it a good idea to Exfoliate before the treatment?

Exfoliating before the waxing will reduce the amount of dead skin in the area and help your skin to bounce back to its normal healthy glow as fast as possible. This is not a must, however it is advisable!

Should I Moisturize before the Wax?

Although it may be tempting to moisturize before the wax it’s not always the best idea. A few days before is a good idea so your skin will be in good condition, however right before is not the best idea. If you do it will make the hair harder to grasp and the results may not be perfect.
